Sometimes the most powerful shifts begin with something we cannot see—but can feel.

Sound is everywhere. Yet most of the time, we barely think about how deeply it affects us.
Sound shapes our emotions and memories in ways we rarely stop to analyze. This month’s issue invites you to listen deeply, explore curiosity, and discover how your own responses to sound can offer a personal reset.
Have you ever noticed how quickly a sound can change the way you feel?
A favourite song can transport you back decades in an instant. The sound of rain can make you want to curl up and rest. A sudden noise in the middle of the night can send your heart racing before your mind has even figured out what happened. And sometimes, a single voice, tone, or melody can bring tears to your eyes without you fully understanding why.
Sound is everywhere. Yet most of the time, we barely think about how deeply it affects us.
That is what inspired this month’s issue of Elemental Reset Magazine.
The Frequency Within is an exploration of sound, vibration, resonance, and the many ways we experience them—through our ears, our bodies, our emotions, and, for many people, through their spiritual or energetic practices.
Throughout this issue, we are going to explore the fascinating world of sound healing. We’ll look at singing bowls, tuning forks, gongs, drums, the human voice, binaural beats, sound baths, and the frequencies you may have seen discussed online, including 432 Hz and 528 Hz.
But I also want us to remain curious.
There is a difference between what science can currently measure, what practitioners observe through experience, and what various healing and spiritual traditions have taught for generations. I believe there is room to explore all three without needing to turn every possibility into a promise.
That curiosity is part of what Elemental Reset is about.
Our October cover conversation with Cheryl Butler brings that exploration to life. Cheryl’s journey through holistic wellness eventually led her to sound and vibration, and her story reminds us that sometimes we discover the modality that speaks to us simply because something inside us recognizes it.
And because it is October, we are having a little fun with sound too.
Why does a creaking floorboard seem so much louder after midnight? Why can an unexplained sound immediately make us imagine something lurking in the darkness? From things that go bump in the night to the psychology of sounds that frighten us, we’ll explore the mysterious side of listening as well.
My invitation to you this month is simple:
Listen.
Not only to music or the sounds around you, but to your own response to them.
What settles you?
What energizes you?
What brings back a memory?
What makes your shoulders drop, your breathing slow, or your entire body suddenly become alert?
Perhaps your own relationship with sound has something to teach you.
After all, sometimes creating a reset doesn’t require changing everything around us.
Sometimes it begins by changing what we are willing to hear.
With love and a little magic,
